SafeMine is a EU-funded project and aims to develop a holistic and resilient PhD‐Programme with a focus on increased mine safety, using the most up to date research data and carrying out studies on industry‐driven, real scenarios and projects. Additionally, qualified professionals will be trained to lead the future of health and safety work in the European mining and tunnelling industry based on a modern view of these industries as attractive and safe workplaces.

Four leading European mining universities - Clausthal University of Technology (Germany), Luleå University of Technology (Sweden), RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) - are working closely together with industrial partners in order to develop this PhD‐Programme.

This action has received funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, under the H2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
